Types of Therapy
I work on a one to one basis with adults, and I am trained in the use of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), the Person Centered Approach, Psychotherapy, and I am classed as IFS Aware, This means that I have completed training in the use of Internal Family System therapy with a qualified IFS trainer, but not through the IFS Institute.
Hours
My normal working hours are below but if you need to have a session outside of those hours, get in touch and I’ll see if I can accommodate it. Particularly if you are a shift worker.
Tuesday 9 am - 9 pm
Wednesday 9 am - 9 pm
Thursday. 9am - 7.30 pm
Initial Consultation
Unless you are an existing or former client, the starting point is to book a consultation where we can talk about why you are seeking counselling support and what your goal is. It takes around 25 minutes and there is no cost to you, and no sales pitch from me. You simply send in a completed contact form and I’ll get back to you to arrange a time and date.
Individual Sessions - £60
The actual counselling sessions are 50 minutes long and take place over zoom or on the phone, depending on your preference. Usually paid on a session-by-session basis, unless you choose to pay in advance for six sessions.
Six Sessions - £300
If you think you may need a number of sessions, consider paying in advance as it works out cheaper.
Short Term and Long Term Therapy
By short term, I mean 1 to 12 sessions, though three is the shortest time it has taken a client to achieve the goal they wanted from the counselling.
Long term therapy is exactly what it says, and the longest I have worked with someone to date is 30 months, which started off as weekly, before transitioning to fortnightly and then monthly sessions. It involves healing the emotional wounds you pick up through life, and fundamentally changing the way you think about yourself. Like all good therapy it is based on a healthy working relationship between the therapist and the client, and the commitment of the therapist to stay with you.
